From the lakes, fields, and woods of her childhood, to the Sonoran desert of Arizona, to the islands of
Hawaii where she lived for eleven years, Diane McGregor has always had a deeply personal connection to
nature and the environment. The endless, mystical vistas of the New Mexican landscape are the inspiration
for her current work.
McGregor was born in Philadelphia and raised in rural areas of Connecticut and New Jersey.
She studied studio art and art history at the University of Arizona in Tucson, where she earned
her BFA with Honors in 1985.
McGregor has been exhibiting her work for more than 25 years, and her art can be found in public
and private collections throughout the United States and Europe. She lives near Santa Fe on five acres
of high mountain desert with her astronomer husband and their three dogs, a parrot, and a pet skunk.
